One of the top choices for jewelers when it comes to pickling solutions is Sparex #2. This sodium bisulfate liquid is most commonly used and comes in a granulated form that can be added to distilled water. While this solution is effective, it is important to note that it is toxic and can damage clothing upon contact. Additionally, the solution must be neutralized in baking soda before disposal. When working with this solution, copper tongs should be used to extract jewelry as other metal tongs may contaminate the pickle.

Luckily, our soldering station is designed to allow for precisely adjustable articulating arms that will securely hold your work in place. Whether soldering hinges onto your silverware bracelets or tackling other small soldering tasks, this station is the perfect tool.

To assemble, screw the black articulating arms into the threaded holes in the aluminum base, being mindful not to overtighten. It’s important to be cautious about overheating your work, as the heat-resistant non-slip coating on the alligator clip tips can still transfer heat and cause the black tips to melt. For this reason, it’s best to avoid using the soldering station for annealing purposes.

If you do happen to damage either the arms or the clips, replacements can be purchased. So don’t worry; you can always return to your soldering projects easily.

Introducing the honeycomb board – an essential tool for securely holding your work in place during soldering. This lightweight, non-asbestos ceramic board has a heat-reflective surface, measuring approximately 3 3/4″ x 5 1/2″. While it is effective, it is important to handle the board with care as it may become fragile and crack over time due to the heat from your torch. To avoid this, we suggest wrapping a piece of stainless steel binding wire around the board’s outer edges and tightly twisting the ends together before use. This will ensure the board remains intact. This premium charcoal block is known to last three to five times longer than other types. Its durable and compressed surface reflects heat back, resulting in faster and cleaner soldering. The block measures 5-1/2″ x 2-3/4″ x 1-1/4″.
