One of the top choices for jewelers when it comes to pickling solutions is Sparex #2. This sodium bisulfate liquid is most commonly used and comes in a granulated form that can be added to distilled water. While this solution is effective, it is important to note that it is toxic and can damage clothing upon contact. Additionally, the solution must be neutralized in baking soda before disposal. When working with this solution, copper tongs should be used to extract jewelry as other metal tongs may contaminate the pickle.

Our solder-cutting pliers provide two methods for cutting. You can use them to cut sheet solder into 1/16″ (1.60mm) squares or wire solder up to 18 gauge in 1/16″ (1.60mm) lengths. These pliers are fast and efficient and always provide the same amount. They measure 5-1/2″ (140mm) in length.

It’s important to be cautious about overheating your work, as the heat-resistant non-slip coating on the alligator clip tips can still transfer heat and cause the black tips to melt. For this reason, it’s best to avoid using the soldering station for annealing purposes.

If you do happen to damage either the arms or the clips, replacements can be purchased. So don’t worry; you can always return to your soldering projects easily.
